“ Old Age : the crown of life, our play’s last act” – Marcus Tullius Cicero
Joy of Giving Week 2014
In our country growing old looks like a sin, and most of the time the younger generation has become selfish and busy that they forget to take care of their parents and grandparents. Yet, they forget that they might face the same situations when they are old. But these neglected destitute elderly persons only need little of your love and care, and the most important a petite time of yours which most of them fail to give.
So here we at YGF planned something really special for them with the help of all our generous volunteers who worked for this event, as part of our second Joy of Giving Act in “Aasaktha Poshaka Sabha”. The naanas and naanis at this home had a monotonous daily schedule, so we thought of spending an evening with them and to make them feel overjoyed. Keeping their health and other issues in mind we planned for a heartwarming Bhajan session followed by snacks like samosas and holige. And we also planned for a mehendi session after the bhajan, where all our YGF members filed their hands with a little of colour. And surely the vibes on their faces were just amazing and the time just flew by. This was an enjoyable and worthwhile experience to everyone who was part of this event.
The event was co-ordinated by our volunteers Radhika and Anusha.
